Op woensdagavond 8 juni zal in het Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen een ontmoeting plaatsvinden tussen experts uit de Indiase filmindustrie en de Nederlandse filmindustrie. Onder de naam ‘IIFA Workshop, professionals meet professionals’ ontmoeten o.a. film directors, producers, tekstschrijvers en componisten elkaar.
Doelstelling van het event is een uitwisseling van kennis en informatie tussen India en Nederland a.d.h.v een aantal lezingen van Indiase film toppers als Karan Johar, Shabana Azmi en Javhad Aktar. Hoe bereikt de Indiase film toch zo´n groot publiek in eigen land? Hoe kan muziek een duidelijke waarde hebben voor films? Dit zijn slechts enkele brandende vragen van de Nederlandse film professional.
Het is een hoogwaardige kwalitatieve aftrap van het IIFA weekend in Amsterdam. Het event zal afgesloten worden met de vertoning van de film Kal Ho Naa Ho. Ook Abishek Bachchan, zoon van de levende legende Amitabh Bachchan, zal de avond bijwonen.
Het event is tot stand gekomen door een nauwe samenwerking tussen o.a. de IIFA, NFTA (Nederlandse Film en Televisie Academie), NVS (Nederlandse Vereniging van Speelfilmproducenten), Marijke de Vos (15 jaar expert in Indiase film) en Squarewise (strategisch adviesbureau voor kennis en innovatie). Voor de avond zijn helaas geen kaarten meer verkrijgbaar.

My name is Sajeda, I am in Holland for 5 years now. And I feel really proud that the IIfa awards were held here in Amsterdam. I just loved it. I love Sharukh Khan and Abhishek Bachan. And the rest were great as well. But I found it really sad that they were not enough people. I do know that the tickets were expensive. But, who did not missed had a blast.
And I got the chance to meet and embrace Sharukh Khan backstage and see the other stars from near. But SK is verry short. But really nice. But it was to short the security was kind a strict. Well, I’ll have to try my luck next time.
